Please read these Terms of Service (“Terms”, “Terms of Service”, “Terms and Conditions” or “Agreement”) carefully before using the Unit website or mobile applications (together, or individually, the “Service”) operated by Unit team (“Unit”, “us”, “we” or “our”).
These Terms are a legal agreement between you and us for use of the Unit Service and apply to all visitors, users and others who wish to access or use the Service.
If you access or use the Service, it means you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you don’t agree to all of the terms below, you do not have permission to access the Service. Also, if a term does not make sense to you, please let us know by e-mailing support@unit.app.

TL;DR: We can send you emails.
If you sign up for our newsletter or contact us, you agree we may send you emails such as newsletters, updates or responses to your message. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link or the instructions in any email we send.
TL;DR: We’re not responsible for third-party services.
From time to time, we may provide you with links to third party websites or services that we do not own or control. Your use of the Service may also include the use of applications that are developed or owned by a third party.
Your use of such third party applications, websites, and services is governed by that party’s own terms of service or privacy policies. We encourage you to read the terms and conditions and privacy policy of any third party application, website or service that you visit or use.
You acknowledge and agree that Unit shall not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any damage or loss caused or alleged to be caused by or in connection with use of or reliance on any such content, goods or services available on or through any such third party web sites or services.
TL;DR: You don’t need an account to use Unit.
Unit does not require an account. You can use the app fully without signing up or signing in. If you used an older version of Unit, you can optionally sign in to import your existing data from Unit Cloud - that sign-in is used only for the import.
When you do sign in, please keep your login details secure and let us know at support@unit.app if you notice any unauthorized access.
TL;DR: Unit is not directed to children.
Unit is not directed to children, and we expect that any use by children will only be done with the guidance, supervision and consent of their parents, guardians and/or authorized school officials. Unit relies on parents and guardians to ensure that minors only use Unit if they can understand their rights and responsibilities as laid out in these Terms of Service and in our Privacy Policy.
TL;DR: We have paid functionality. If you want it, you can pay for it.
Unit Plus unlocks the app’s paid features. You can get it through Apple’s App Store either as a subscription (billed monthly or yearly) or as a one-time Lifetime purchase. Apple handles the purchase, billing and renewals - we don’t collect or store your payment details.
Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel, and you can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in your Apple account settings. The Lifetime option is a single one-time purchase - it does not renew and there is nothing to cancel. Apple’s App Store terms apply to all of these purchases.
TL;DR: Our free functionality can be modified.
Unit may, at its sole discretion, offer a Subscription with a free trial for a limited period of time (“Free Trial”).
At any time and without notice, Unit reserves the right to (1) modify the terms and conditions of the Free Trial offer, or (2) cancel such Free Trial offer.
TL;DR: Our fees can be changed.
We may change the price of Unit Plus from time to time. For App Store subscriptions, Apple will notify you and, where required, ask for your consent before a price change takes effect. Any change applies to future billing periods, not past ones.
TL;DR: Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple.
Purchases of Unit Plus are made through Apple’s App Store, so refunds are handled by Apple under their policies, and you can request one directly from Apple. If you run into any trouble, feel free to contact us at support@unit.app and we’ll help where we can.
TL;DR: Your content is yours. You’re responsible for it.
Unit lets you create and store content - notes, text, images, audio, files and more (“Content”). Your Content is yours. It stays on your device and, if you turn on sync, in your own private iCloud - we do not host it and have no access to it.
You are responsible for your Content, including its legality and making sure you have the right to use it. Because we don’t store your Content on our servers, we don’t review, moderate, or have the ability to remove it. Please don’t use Unit to create or store anything unlawful or that infringes someone else’s rights.
TL;DR: You can delete your data at any time, right from the app.
Your Content lives on your device and in your iCloud, so you’re always in control - delete any note in the app, turn off sync, or remove Unit’s data from iCloud in your iOS settings. There’s no account to close.
If you used Unit Cloud and want the data from our old servers deleted before it is retired, just email us at support@unit.app. Our website keeps basic server access logs for up to 30 days and then deletes them.
TL;DR: We can modify and terminate this service.
Unit reserves the right at any time and from time to time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, the Service (or any part thereof) with or without notice at any time. You agree that Unit shall not be liable to You or to any third party for any modification, suspension, termination or discontinuance of the Service.
TL;DR: We are not liable if something goes really wrong.
Unit makes no representation, warranty, or guarantee as to the reliability, timeliness, quality, suitability, availability, accuracy or completeness of the Services. Unit does not represent or warrant that (1) the use of the Services will be secure, timely, uninterrupted or error-free or operate in combination with any other hardware, software, system or data, (2) the Service will meet your requirements or expectations (3) errors or defects will be corrected, or (4) the Services are free of viruses or other harmful components. The Service is provided by Unit on and “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, either expressed or implied, including without limitation, any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement of third-party rights, are hereby disclaimed to the maximum extent permitted by law. You expressly agree that use of the Services is at your sole risk.
TL;DR: Respect our brand.
We put a lot of effort into creating the Service including, the logo and all designs, text, graphics, pictures, information and other content (excluding your content). This property is owned by us or our licensors and it is protected by international copyright laws. We grant you the right to use it.
However, unless we expressly state otherwise, your rights do not include: (1) using any data mining, robots or similar data gathering or extraction methods; (2) downloading (other than page caching) of any portion of the Service or any information contained therein; (3) reverse engineering or accessing the Service in order to build a competitive product or service.
Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used in connection with any product or service without the prior written consent of Unit.
TL;DR: We respect the intellectual property rights.
We take intellectual property rights seriously. In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”) and other applicable law, we have adopted a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances and, at our sole discretion, access to the service for users who are deemed to be repeat infringers.

TL;DR: These terms can be changed.
Unit reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to modify or replace the terms of this Agreement at any time. If the alterations constitute a material change, Unit will notify you by posting an announcement on the Unit website. What constitutes a material change will be determined at Unit’s sole discretion. You shall be responsible for reviewing and becoming familiar with any such modifications. Using our Services following notification of a material change to this Agreement shall constitute your acceptance of the Agreement as modified.

Please let us know what you think of the Service, these Terms and, in general, Unit. When you provide us with any feedback, comments or suggestions about the Service, these Terms and, in general, Unit, you irrevocably assign to us all of your right, title and interest in and to your feedback, comments and suggestions.
